"Few places on earth have had as much impact on the mtb world as Vancouver's North Shore mountains. From way back in the day it has been featured in countless freeride films and inspired trail builders and bikers around the world to replicate "The Shore" style of riding."
The cup of coffee ripples through my conscious, turns eddies into the first thoughts of the day. It's not that the coffee is strong, but jetlag and streetparade that have left us feeling a bit like zombies. And probably also why we are still unsure if we dreamt our return to Zuri.
Shortly before our trip we saw a video of this trail and new that I wanted to ride it and do our own edit. Ladies Only, Mt. Fromme, was built 20 years ago and our 2nd day of riding on the shore.
A week ago we found ourselves arriving in Vancouver, warmly welcomed at Matt & Helena's. It felt a bit strange to be in a city again and off the camping route, but sleeping in a bed was going to be a novelty.
Mt. Fromme is a massive playground of trails wrapped up in a jungle like forest.
How many hours of digging on the shore?
So by Wednesday, the last week over before it had begun, we hobbled off to the airport, exhausted and already nostalgic about the fine times that we had shared during the last 6 weeks. All the great people that we met, the stunning forests, lakes and mountains, only 2 days of rain, and of course the epic biking. Canada had been too good to us.
Between rides we did manage to take time off and get to the beach.
Downtown looking good.
Ride crew with Matt, Helena, Matteo.
Matt shows us how it is done.
We rode Fromme in the morning, moved to a jump spot after lunch and finally came here at the end of the day.
Matt and Matteo sending it!
Matt and Matteo sending it!
The city seen from North Van after a long day.
Another Fromme day where Randy and Jeremy joined.
Cypress ride about to begin...
Powerbar stop with mosquitos.
One of many steeps on the ride down.
Keep it green...
What an ending, a big ride and a dip in the sea!
