island style

Simone mind's the gap, which seemed much bigger on our last visit.

After riding technical trails for a couple of days we were looking forward to scoring some flow when we pulled into Mt. Washington. Only a couple of trails were open, so we opted for the repeat-repeat-repeat approach. Great for building confidence and getting to know the trails, eventually we were able to send the drops, gaps and step downs that Wizzard and Big Brother offered up to us.

The last clouds disappear at the trailhead, first hit just around the bend was a big wooden booter!

It was cold last time we visited, this time was no different. Huddling up in our camper we were very grateful for the down sleeping bag on the almost empty car park. But on Sunday the sun came out and a perfect day of riding unfolded. After spending so many days at it, everything seemed to come together as we railed down the mountain, lap after lap.

 Bluebird wallride.

More gaps and floaty tables spread out all over the trail.

When we could no longer hold onto our bikes anymore (and we had already done 3 last runs), we grabbed a beer and a burger before jumping back in the car and heading for Tofino.

Mt. Washington skyscrapers, silhouetted at the end of the day.
