A Tree of Life

If you don't like trees (or suffer from megalobotanophobia) then don't bother coming to Canada.

Cathedral Grove was humbling. What awe nature can inspire, leaving us feeling so insignificant in the grander scheme of things!

But then 800 year old trees will do that...

It was also a bit of a shock being back on the tourist route, but good preparation for our arrival at Tofino. Somehow Canada's Huntington beach, every 2nd car has 3 surfboards on the roof and not too many waves around.
Too many tourists also seemed to be the explanation for our failed campsite reservation.

So with our dreams of camping on the beach moved to the golf course, Tofino and Ucluelet never quiet met our expectations.

Our last night on Vancouver Island (and our last night camping!) we stopped over in Nanaimo and treated ourselves to a delicious seafood dinner. Boarding the ferry back to Vancouver for the last couple of days of our trip, we were only carrying plans to ride the Northshore and slip silently back into civilization.

Back to the city, next stop Vancouver...
