helter skelter

Kirstenbosch Gardens
On a quick day trip to Cape Town, Barbs and I went hiking up Table Mountain. We started in the lovely Kirstenbosch Gardens and up Skeleton Gorge to one of the Reservoirs up there.
Steep, steep, steep through the beautiful forest and up the ladders to finally see the view over False Bay.

I certainly didn't expect to see sand up here!
The dam was beautiful and the fynbos in bloom. So walking along through rather thick bush was interesting as always.

As time was a bit short on this day we didn't make it to the top but went straight down again through Ash Valley to Nursery Ravine.
Steep relentless steps down.

There was no time to hang out in the gardens either, but I came back for that a few weeks later.
Check here what I was up to.
another stunning view and a great ending to the day!
