T-Dub Moose Shuffle

Yes, we did see mice (plural of moose?), but the shuffle came later...

Mom moose watches closely before teaching sonny to swim.

Our few days of rest were spent enjoying some of the scenery that Canada has to offer and dipping our tired bodies into the springs at Radium before heading along the road.

Seemingly synchronized, when we rest it rains. Enjoying a coffee break at Revi.

Setting up at Redstreak campground, Kootney National Park before our bearless stroll to the springs.

Flower power! Kootney National Park.

40 years ago, a massive fire burnt through Kootney Park taking most of the forest with it when it finally went out 40 days later. Apparently, part of the natural process. Either way, Marble Canyon is a fascinating place to get lost in.

On the road to Calgary, just outside Banff.

A quick turn through civilization (sleeping in a bed, thanks Rob) and a tour of Calgary, also marked the turning point in our journey. We are heading West now, but back along a more southerly route: Fernie, Nelson, Rossland and eventually Vancouver Island.

Calgary, surprisingly green and cozy for a city.

But back to the shuffle...

At some point it was time to climb back on the horse again. We decided for a morning ride at C.O.P. (the chin piece of my helmet almost went through my lungs while I was perfecting my judo-role-mushroom-pick) before heading out for an evening session at Moose Mountain. The plan was to go for an easy ride to finish the day. But while pedaling up the hill we were picked up by a shuttle crew and, before we knew it, found ourselves threading our way through some of the steep and gnarly trails that the Moose had to offer.

Only 40min outside Calgary, Moose Mountain offers everything from fun CC to steep and serious. (T-Dub is apparently also call that whore, which everyone loves to ride).

Eventually we rolled into our camp site at 10pm, falling asleep while we cooked our spaghetti. And as we drifted into dreamland all that we could recall was the moose shuffle.
